The Montana High School Association is moving forward with its plans to start the 2020 high school football season as scheduled.
MHSA executive director Mark Beckman wrote a memo to schools across the state saying, “Along with the National Federation of High School Associations, the MHSA Executive Board believes the resumption of sports and other activities is crucial to the growth, development, and mental and emotional wellness of our Montana youth.”
To help schools achieve their goal of starting Fall camp on August 14, the MHSA has released a five tier plan. The state is in Tier 1, which means practice can begin mid-August with regular season games beginning August 27. If the state leaves Tier 1, the other four options outline what can happen to the 2020 season.
